1. This wave amidst the tumult
An abundant outpouring among nations

2. And from the wave overflowed a surge
That sweeps away humiliation and demolishes ruins

3. Among cries that rose as
The volcano spews embers of flames

4. The currents met and flowed as
The world embraces waters of the tumult

5. From the gloom of oppression its dawn emerged
Like the sunrise from the cave of darkness

6. History witnessed many a conqueror
Who stained the earth, transgressed, and avenged

7. In the madness of oppression he walks
Drunk, numb in feeling, wandering in steps

8. He sows evil and waters his planting
He wrongs the right and draws near to injustice

9. What blessing does he reap from blood
Other than the people's hatred as long as he's determined

10. From his lips the goodness flowed
And his surge then overwhelmed

11. So he passed, and then his deeds passed
And as the night retreats, he retreated

12. The ruled walked with a joyous gait
Filling the earth with life and melodies

13. His land was traversed by his joys
For thirsty peoples and nations

14. A breeze, if its gentle breath touched
Revived the plants, their freshness smiled

15. The earth remains as long as for it
There is the paradise of thought and loftiness of ideals

16. And if its soul's fragrance it embraced
It lived for goodness and sanctity of values

17. You are of me, you are human, if
We immersed each other and respected one another

18. According to this age, the spirit of its bustle
Is breadth of soul and horizons of the pen

19. Whenever the scope of a nation extended
The youth cried "Here I am, yes!"

20. It is flowing freedom
Spreading from countries to nothingness

21. A free soul ascended, humbly bowing to it in the world
Sanctifying this sanctuary

22. The East exulted, and Arabs sang
And those sitting in the pyramid's shade clapped

23. It is free, and its freedom
Is a blessing, and all blessings flow from it

24. And free Europe sang of it
As well as faraway peoples and nations

25. Then the drums roared in Africa
So America ecstatically sang its tune

26. Melodies ascended and blended
Into one tune, intertwined

27. The Sudan played an immortal melody
From the echo of joy in raising the flag

28. And we awoke at the dawn of an era upon
The rapture of celebration and realization of the dream

29. And the people walked free, entering
The expanse of history, for the shackles crumbled

30. It breathed into it a free life
And marked it, saying "Do not sleep"

31. This breeze, no matter how confined, it
Flows with the breaths of the breeze
