Victory from God has come now that you have arrived, and the conquest

2. God has decreed that you strive to revive His religion
So you do what cannot be done by sword or spear

3. And He ordained that your sublime principles and views be worn out over the spectacle of creation
And that the champion of victory over the enemies

4. A vigilant guardian of Islam, a trusted, noble one
So may He enable what you intend, guide what you see

5. And facilitate what you come with, and bring closer what you aspire to
Alfonso intended to attack you treacherously

6. The spark of an agitator whom the spark did not help
And he exposed the egg of his kingdom with the white of India

7. So the shell was torn from it and the contents spilled out

So you became, seeking the caliphate, a fugitive

23. The world narrowing around you and dawn startling you
With the slightest drizzle from the clouds of their vengeance

24. You drowned, and they did not know or care if they erased you
So if after it a further affliction befell you

25. From life, that drizzle would not benefit
You set up in his cities a market of strife

26. So its loss was yours and its profit was his
And the shade of Hind and its coolness made you arrogant

27. So the heat of battle and the flaming sword disciplined you
And you roared to advance on the border

28. But the echo of your spirits fled before you advanced

39. But hearts are blinded so they do not see
And the understandings of souls are still so they do not awaken

40. Oh the ugliness of those battlefields with disaster
And beauty of what that glance has adorned for us!

41. So if you return to war, it will snap at you
With misery - its hungry fangs bare

42. And suffice you what it has divorced of its women
A final divorce decreed by sword and spear

43. So their temples turned white and their lips dried out
Beware, for in no wet nurse’s breast is moisture

44. Moaning with anguish or cheeks streaked with tears
And their faces are red and their voices crying

45. So fear God’s trustee in peace and war
And turn aside what remains of treachery, turn it aside

46. For you have no independence from obedience to him
Nor in the ocean of his domination can you swim

47. The rituals of the true religion are clear through him
No ritual of truth but through him, nor sacrifice

48. And the holidays of this opening are radiant so no
Monastery celebrations after them, nor Easter

49. Behold, O delegation, enter the presence of contentment
Blessing and gifts rain upon you

50. And greet an Imam whose traits are awe
And whose custom is benefaction, forbearance and pardon

51. The truthful successor, born of predecessors
That the mention of their elite scents waft

52. He illuminated the horizons, heralding good news
And they came to be, through it, in light while the light is more illuminating

53. So may blessings encompass and attend him indefinitely
And may fortunes continue to go as he goes

54. For were it not for his restraint there would be no restraint for creation
And were it not for his guidance no spark of guidance would ignite

55. The rituals of the true religion are clear through him
No ritual of truth but through him and no sacrifice
