1. O people of destruction, your neighbor
Is prey to what you see of his peril
2. His love surrendered him to a tender branch
The torment of a lover's heart is from its twist
3. He trembles in my coolness of his watering place
As the rod quivers in its flashing
4. And my longing for his greeting
Was the longing of gardens for its rain
5. So he resented even it, what a pity
The essence of passion returned to its bitterness
6. Oh, I wish, even if he is aloof and distant
To please him in his roses and in his chest
7. It satisfies me of him to see him and to
Walk when he walks in his footprints
