فتنsowed discord العذولthe reproacher ونمّand spread tales قلتI said مناظراًarguing in reply
فتن العذول ونمّ قلت مناظراً
لهفيmy yearning علىfor النمّامِthe talebearer والفتانِand the charmer
لهفي على النمّامِ والفتانِ
The reproacher sowed discord and spread tales; I said in rebuttal:
Tempting the chaste and bewitching the onlookers,
How I yearn for the talebearer and the charmer!
I yearn for the coquettish one, the seductress
