The discerning man, endowed with skill, has fallen silent,
The wise man has become brother of proficiency, silent,
cast aside and left idle, his speech neglected.
Cast aside in vain, his words abandoned,
وغداand has become البليدthe dullard أخوpossessed of الجهالةignorance ناطقاًspeaking
وغدا البليد أخو الجهالة ناطقاً
فيماabout whatever يشاhe wishes وخطاؤهand his error مشكورُpraised
فيما يشا وخطاؤه مشكورُ
And the dullard, steeped in ignorance, has begun to speak
And the stupid has become brother of ignorance, speaking
about whatever he wishes, and his errors are praised.
Whatever he wishes, his mistakes applauded.

صدق المثال الدهر دولابٌ فما
