بقد مزرٍ بغصنِ البان واللدنِ
The beautiful swaying of the cypress boughs enraptured me,
The swaying of the cypress branches enchants me
with a form that puts the bān bough and the supple branch to shame.
With a slender, delicate branch of eglantine and sweet basil

And the rustling leaves above the pond kept me awake
And the garden's nightingale delighted me in the hours before dawn.
The nightingale's song at dawn delighted me

The breeze drifted through Beit al-Din, reminding me
The breeze blew by the abode of the faith and reminded me
