Residing in the excess of youth and love
وشوقand longing إليكمfor you منfrom فوادٍa heart أذابهُmelted it
وشوق إليكم من فوادٍ أذابهُ
بعادٌseparation ويهواكمand it loves you علىin البعدdistance والقربand nearness
بعادٌ ويهواكم على البعد والقرب
And longing for you from a heart that has been melted
And longing for you from a heart melted
By separation and loves you both far and near.
By separation, yet still loving you from afar or near
عسىmay تذكرونيyou remember me فيin كتابa letter لأننيbecause I
عسى تذكروني في كتاب لأنني

لحا اللَه أيام الفراق فإنها

أشد من الموت الزؤام على الصب
May God curse the days of separation, for they
May God make the days of separation pleasant, for they
Are harsher on the lovesick lover than dreadful death.
Are more bitter than agonizing death to the youth
وإنand though يكُit be قدalready شطgrew distant المزارthe meeting place فلمyet has not يزلceased
وإن يكُ قد شط المزار فلم يزل
جمالكyour beauty فin عينيmy eye وشخصكand your form فيin قلبيmy heart
جمالك ف عيني وشخصك في قلبي
And though the meeting place has grown distant, still
Even if the pilgrimage site has branched out, the
Your beauty is in my eyes, and your form in my heart.
Beauty of you remains in my eyes and your image remains in my heart
