في يوم قلعة جندلٍ

صالت بزاة لا تصد

On the day of Qalʿat Jandal,

In the day of Jundul's castle

Hawks charged, not to be repelled.

Armed with impenetrable armor

ونضت بوادي الشيخ من

ونضت بوادي الشيخ من

مخلابها سيفاً محد

مخلابها سيفاً محد

And in Wadi al-Shaykh they drew from

She brandished in Wadi Ash-Shaikh a sword

Their talons a sharpened sword.

Whose edge would never go dull

وعلى الحجال تسابقت

وعلى الحجال تسابقت

بصقيل جنحٍ لا يرد

بصقيل جنحٍ لا يرد

And against the partridges they raced,

And she raced on the flanks

With a gleaming wing that none could repel.

With polished wings that would never falter

فغدا المنون بركبهم

فغدا المنون بركبهم

وعلى عديدهم صعد

وعلى عديدهم صعد

So Death came among their riders,

So death rode among their ranks

And rose over their multitude.

And ascended upon their multitudes
