يا من هو الشمس تأتينا أشعتها

And sight falls short of grasping its essence.

And the eye falls short of grasping its essence

قد ساقني سمع أذني مذ أتيت لكي

قد ساقني سمع أذني مذ أتيت لكي

أتمم السمع من عيني بمنظرها

أتمم السمع من عيني بمنظرها

What my ear heard has led me, since I came, so that

Since I came to you, my ear's hearing has led me

I may complete what I heard through my eye by beholding it.

To complete that hearing through my eyes by seeing you
