Be gracious to Your servant, and have mercy.

وإن أساءت فعالي

And even if my deeds have been evil,

And if my actions were wrong,

For Your pardon is greater.

Then Your forgiveness is greater,

فأنت مني بحالي

يا رب أولى واعلم

For You, more than I, concerning my state,

For You know my state,

O Lord, have greater claim and knowledge.

O Lord, You are most Knowing and Wise,

أنا الأثيم وما لي

سواك ملجاً ومعصم

سواك ملجاً ومعصم

I am the sinner, and I have no

I am the sinner and have none

Refuge or shelter apart from You.

Except You as refuge and protector,

فاقبل لديك ابتهالي

فاقبل لديك ابتهالي

بالعفو عما تقدّم

بالعفو عما تقدّم

So accept my supplication before You,

So accept my supplication

With pardon for what has gone before.

With forgiveness for what preceded,

يا نفس قبل الزوالِ

يا نفس قبل الزوالِ

دعي المعاصي إلى كم

دعي المعاصي إلى كم

O soul, before you pass away,

O soul, before the departure,

Forsake sins—how much longer?

Leave sins and move on,

واستغفري ذا الجلال

واستغفري ذا الجلال

واسترحمي فهو ارحم

واسترحمي فهو ارحم

And seek forgiveness from the Lord of Majesty,

And seek forgiveness from the Majestic One,

And implore mercy, for He is most merciful.

And implore His mercy, for He is most Merciful.
