يا ساكن القلب دع قول الوشاة ولا

يا ساكن القلب دع قول الوشاة ولا

تطع عذولاً أتى ما ليس يعنيهِ

تطع عذولاً أتى ما ليس يعنيهِ

O dweller in the heart, disregard the slanderers’ words, and do not

O dweller of my heart, pay no heed to gossipers' tales

obey a reproacher who meddles in what does not concern him.

Nor hearken to a slanderer with idle babble to regale

واللَه ما مال قلبي عن محبتكم

واللَه ما مال قلبي عن محبتكم

وصاحب البيت أدرى بالذي فيهِ

وصاحب البيت أدرى بالذي فيهِ

And by God, my heart has not turned away from loving you;

By God, my heart is still inclined to hold you dear

and the owner of the house knows best what is within it.

None knows a home like he who lives within its walls
