حيّاmay greet الحياrain لحداًa grave ثوتهُshe dwelt in it درةٌa pearl
حيّا الحيا لحداً ثوتهُ درةٌ
كانتshe was تضيءُshe shines بجوهرwith the jewel of الإيمانِfaith
كانت تضيءُ بجوهر الإيمانِ
May rain greet a grave in which a pearl lay,
She lived a life bound by piety
that shone with the jewel of faith:
She shone with the light of faith
ذاتendowed with التقىpiety والبرand righteousness فوتياFoutia التيwho
ذات التقى والبر فوتيا التي
قضتshe spent الحياةlife بطاعةin obedience to الرحمنِthe Most Merciful
قضت الحياة بطاعة الرحمنِ
Foutia, endowed with piety and righteousness, who
The virtuous one has passed away
spent her life in obedience to the Most Merciful.
Who lived obeying the Merciful
مذsince غيّبتshe was hidden فيin اللحدthe grave بدراًas a full moon أشرقتshe shone
مذ غيّبت في اللحد بدراً أشرقت
شمساًas a sun بجنةin the Paradise of ربهاher Lord الديانِthe Judge
شمساً بجنة ربها الديانِ
Since she was hidden in the grave as a full moon, she has shone
Since she was buried, the full moon set
as a sun in the Paradise of her Lord, the Judge.
And the sun rose in her Lord's Paradise
لقتshe met المنيةdeath فيin خصيبthe flourishing prime of شبابهاher youth
لقت المنية في خصيب شبابها
مطبوعةًnaturally endowed فيin الحسنbeauty والإحسانِand benevolence
مطبوعةً في الحسن والإحسانِ
She met death in the full bloom of her youth,
She met death in her fertile youth
naturally endowed with beauty and benevolence.
Imprinted with beauty and kindness
وغدتand she became تميسshe sways gracefully بروضةin the garden of الملكوتthe heavenly kingdom فيin
وغدت تميس بروضة الملكوت في
تاريخهاher chronogram وبساحةand in the courtyard of الغفرانِforgiveness
تاريخها وبساحة الغفرانِ
And she now sways gracefully in the garden of the heavenly kingdom—in
And she came to stroll in the garden of Heaven
her chronogram's words, 'and in the courtyard of forgiveness.'
