لقد شرفت إذ قبلت كفاً

تقرُّ له السماحة والسيوف

I was ennobled when I kissed a hand

Indeed, I was honored when I kissed a hand

to which munificence and swords alike defer.

To which generosity and swords defer.

ولا عجبٌ إذا ساد المعالي

ولا عجبٌ إذا ساد المعالي

فركن المجد والعليا شريف

فركن المجد والعليا شريف

No wonder if the Mamluks become masters:

And it is no wonder if he rules the heights of honor,

for Sharif is the pillar of glory and high estate.

For Sharif is the pillar of glory and eminence.
