يقرطadorns with earrings الأذنthe ear دراًpearls ذلكthat الخبرthe report
يقرط الأذن دراً ذلك الخبر
I have never ceased hearing tidings of Mahdi of humankind;
I still hear news of the cradle of the world
Those tidings adorn the ear with pearls.
That news pierces the ear like a pearl
فجئتso I came مبتغياًseeking تقبيلkissing راحتهhis palm
فجئت مبتغياً تقبيل راحته
ليستويso that they may be equal السمعhearing باللذاتin pleasures والبصرand sight
ليستوي السمع باللذات والبصر
So I came seeking to kiss his palm,
So I came seeking to kiss his hand
That hearing and sight might be equal in delight.
That hearing and sight may delight equally
