Gain a sip of delight from the pure radiance
She rose with the radiance of a pure youth,
of a chamber where congratulations have arrived.
A chamber in which congratulations were presented,
وتسامىand rose high العزhonor فيin أيوانهاits iwan (vaulted hall)
وتسامى العز في أيوانها
وشواديand songbirds السعدgood fortune فيهاwithin it قدindeed شدتsang
وشوادي السعد فيها قد شدت
And honor soared in its iwan,
And the glory within her halls grew lofty.
and good fortune's songbirds have sung within it.
The hills of joy within were firmly set.
حبذاhow lovely لألاءهاits brilliance فيin رونقsplendor
حبذا لألاءها في رونق
فبهاfor within it كلall البهاsplendor لماwhen رقتit rose
فبها كل البها لما رقت
How lovely its brilliance in splendor!
Blessed be her brilliance in splendor,
For all splendor was within it when it rose.
For in her is all beauty when delighted.
جادهاshowered it with bounty الانسdelight فنادىso called out حسنهاits beauty
جادها الانس فنادى حسنها
ادخلوهاenter it بسلامin peace قدindeed زهتbecame resplendent
ادخلوها بسلام قد زهت
Delight showered it with bounty, and its beauty called:
Humanity rejoiced and called out her goodness saying:
Enter it in peace—it has become resplendent.
"Enter in peace for you have adorned."
ياO! لهاfor it منزلa dwelling امنsafety وهناand bliss
يا لها منزل امن وهنا
حازتacquired الأوصافthe qualities حسناbeauty وحوتand embraced
حازت الأوصاف حسنا وحوت
What a dwelling of safety and bliss!
What a secure and tranquil abode she has,
It gained and embraced qualities of beauty.
Embodying the finest qualities, containing beauty.
وعلىand on ركنthe pillar معاليهاits lofty honors شداsang
وعلى ركن معاليها شدا
بلبلthe nightingale الأفراحjoys دامتmay it endure وعلتand rise high
بلبل الأفراح دامت وعلت
And on the pillar of its grandeur sang
And upon the pillar of her greatness
the nightingale of joys—may the chamber endure and rise high!
The nightingale of joys lasting, ascended on high.
بلغتreached أوجthe summit كمالperfection وكذاand likewise
بلغت أوج كمال وكذا
بسمتsmiled ثغراa smiling mouth بعزّwith glory وجلتand shone
بسمت ثغرا بعزّ وجلت
It reached the summit of perfection, and likewise
She reached the peak of perfection, and thus
it smiled with glorious lips and shone.
Smiled a visage with pride and majesty.
حاكتemulated الأفلاكthe celestial spheres فيin قوسan arch لذاthus
حاكت الأفلاك في قوس لذا
سارياتnight-wanderers الافقthe horizon فيهاwithin it اشرقتshone
ساريات الافق فيها اشرقت
It emulated the celestial spheres in its arch; thus
She traced the horizons in an arc of bliss
the horizon's night-wanderers shone within it.
With brocades glittering bright within her halls.
ونسيماتand breezes الصفاserenity فيin روضهاits garden
ونسيمات الصفا في روضها
عنof هناءbliss وسرورand joy قدindeed روتrecounted
عن هناء وسرور قد روت
And breezes of serenity in its garden
And the breezes of clarity in her gardens
have told of bliss and joy.
Spoke of gladness and joy while quenching thirst.
زفهاled it in bridal procession السعدgood fortune فأرخso record the date لهناfor bliss
زفها السعد فأرخ لهنا
طبقةa storey فيin نعمةgrace اللَهGod سمتrose high
طبقة في نعمة اللَه سمت
Good fortune led it in bridal procession; so mark the date of this bliss:
Joyously she was escorted with fortune unfurling
A storey has risen in God's grace.
A sphere blessed in the grace of God.
