صاح وافى داعي الهناء يشير

في سعود وقد تجلى السرورُ

Friend, the herald of felicity has arrived, beckoning

amid good fortune, as joy has shone forth.

وهذار الأفراح غرد صبحا

في ربوع لها الأماني زهورُ

And joy's songster warbled at dawn

in dwellings where wishes are flowers.

وتغنت بلابل الدوح لما

ماس تيها غصن الصفاء النضيرُ

And the nightingales of the great trees sang when

the flourishing branch of serenity swayed proudly.

أشرقت أنجم التهاني جملا

حين ضاءت بالاقتران بدورُ

The stars of congratulations shone all together

when full moons gleamed in conjunction.

حيث أضحى على الثريا أمينا

في سماء الزفاف بدر منيرُ

Where Amin became, above the Pleiades,

a radiant full moon in the wedding sky.

وتبدت من المسرات تجلى

راح انس على الندامى تدورُ

And, radiant amid delights, there appeared

wine of companionship, circulating among the drinking companions.

وتجلت فوق الأرائك ورق

تتناجى بشرا بأمن يفورُ

And gray doves appeared above the couches,

whispering together joyfully in overflowing peace.

يا نديمي قد راق وقت التصابي

وتداني المنى وفاض الحبورُ

O my boon companion, the hour of youthful dalliance is delightful,

and wishes draw near, and gladness overflows.

نسمات السرور هبت علينا

يتهادى من نشرهن عبيرُ

The breezes of joy blew upon us,

and perfume gently wafts from their fragrance.

قم وبادر معاهد الصفو واغنم

طيب عيش لك الأمان سميرُ

Rise, hasten to the haunts of serenity, and seize

a pleasant life; security is your evening companion.

إن عرف الأزهار بت شذاها

حين وافت صبا التهاني تمورُ

Indeed, the blossoms' perfume spread their fragrance,

when congratulations' east wind arrived, swirling.

ولطيف النسيم حرك نايا

عندما صاح بالصفاء الغديرُ

And the gentle breeze stirred a reed flute

when the pool called out in serenity.

وإيادي الرياح دقت دفوفا

وتثنى لذاك ظبي غريرُ

And the hands of the winds beat frame drums,

and a guileless gazelle swayed in response.

وغصون الرياض ماست دلالا

حين غنت من فوقهنّ الطيورُ

And the boughs of the gardens swayed coquettishly

when the birds sang from above them.

وكؤوس الآمال أهدت نجاحا

حين دارت بنا ولذّ الحضورُ

And the cups of hope bestowed success

when they passed among us and the gathering grew delightful.

يا سقاة الأقداح هبوا صباحا

بصبوح لها القلوب تطيرُ

O pourers of goblets, rise in the morning

with morning wine, toward which hearts take flight.

واديروا مع الصبابة راحا

من سناه تجلى وتنفى الكدورُ

And pass around wine with ardent longing;

from its radiance comes brightness, and gloom is dispelled.

أخصبت العيش والتمني لما

من نبات البشير فاضت بحورُ

Life and longing grew fruitful when

seas poured forth from Bashir's growth.

فهو ذو السؤدد الشريف ومولى

قد تعالى به المقام الخطيرُ

For he possesses noble preeminence and is a lord

through whom an august station has risen high.

كم تدانت له المقاصد رشدا

وتحلت من المعالي ثغورُ

How many aims have drawn near to him, rightly guided,

and smiling mouths have been adorned with lofty virtues.

كل جود طليق كفيه لكن

كل حمد لراحتيه أسيرُ

All generosity is set free by his two palms, yet

all praise is captive to his two hands.

ذو أياد تفيض بحر هبات

لو رآها كعب الأيادي يجيرُ

He has beneficent hands that pour forth a sea of gifts;

were Ka'b al-Iyadi to see them, he would grant protection.

حاز لبنان من سناه ابتهاجا

وحباه بشر وخير فخيرُ

Lebanon gained delight from his radiance,

and he granted it joy and goodness upon goodness.

يا بشير له السعود اشارت

وشهابا به العلى تستنيرُ

O Bashir, to whom auspicious fortunes have beckoned,

and Shihab, a blazing star by whom the heights are illumined!

أنت للمجد والمكارم رب

وهمام على المعالي أميرُ

You are the master of glory and noble deeds,

and a valiant hero, a prince over lofty honors.

كل نصر لروض عزك دان

حيث نادى للسعد فيه البشيرُ

Every victory draws near to the garden of your might,

where the herald has called out to good fortune.

قام داعي الأنام يشدو بربع

أنت للعدل فيه نعم النصيرُ

The herald of humankind arose, singing in a dwelling

where you are justice's finest champion.

ليس يلقى بين العوالم طرا

لك ند ياذا الثنا أو نظيرُ

Among all the worlds, there is not found

a peer or equal to you, O possessor of praise.

ما تجلى شهاب سعدك إلّا

فوق شهب النجوم اضحى يسيرُ

Your fortune's meteor has never shone except

to travel above the stars' own meteors.

أنت طود الفخار يا خير مولى

في حماه بنو العلى تستجيرُ

You are the mountain of pride, O best of lords,

in whose refuge the sons of eminence seek shelter.

قد تهنى الزمان فيك اعتزازاً

وعلاه من ثغر عدلك نورُ

Time has rejoiced in you, taking pride,

and light from the mouth of your justice has shone over it.

فزهناء في حسن انجال سعد

هم نجوم العلى ونعم الصدورُ

Enjoy felicity in the beauty of fortune's sons:

they are the stars of eminence, and excellent leaders.

شهب افق أشبال فتك سراة

حيث أنت الغضنفر المشهورُ

Meteors of the horizon, fierce lion cubs, noble chiefs,

for you are the renowned lion.

وكرام من كل قاسم جيش

قد تسامى به النداء الغزيرُ

And noble men, each a Qasim, an army's divider,

through whom abundant acclaim has risen high.

وخليل ان كر فوق جواد

خلت نسرا يعلوه ليث جسورُ

And Khalil, if he charges upon a steed,

you would think it an eagle bearing a daring lion.

وأمين العلياء أحسن شهم

قد تبدى به الهناء الوفيرُ

And Amin of the heights, the finest gallant man,

in whom abundant felicity has appeared.

أن هذا الزفاف أجمل عرس

وسعيد مبارك وطهورُ

Indeed, this wedding is the loveliest marriage feast,

and happy, blessed, and pure.

وزواج أضحى أمين اقتران

كل سعد يأتي به ويزورُ

And a marriage in which Amin is now joined,

with every good fortune coming to him and visiting.

ناشدتنا الأفراح ذات ابتسام

حين زف المولى الأمين الوقورُ

Smiling joys called upon us

when the dignified lord Amin was escorted to his wedding.

وجبين الأيام أشرق حسنا

وتردت ثوب الجمال العصورُ

And the brow of the days shone with beauty,

and the ages donned the robe of beauty,

تتهنى فيه وفي أخويه

وبنيهم ما تستدير الدهورُ

rejoicing in him and in his two brothers,

and in their sons, as long as the ages revolve.
