Jafr al-Habāh, on a day of racing, was not

Like the day that unfolded in the valley of al-Fawwārah.

خلت تلك البزاة فرسان عبسٍ وحجال

خلت تلك البزاة فرسان عبسٍ وحجال

وحجال العريض آل فزاره

وحجال العريض آل فزاره

I took those falcons for the horsemen of ʿAbs, and the partridges—

And the partridges of al-ʿArīḍ for the house of Fazārah.
