  1. باتت تعللني بلمس أناملِ

    مخضوبة الأظفار وهي حسانُ

    All night she soothed me with the touch of fingers,

    Their nails dyed, and lovely they were;

  2. فكأنها أقلام الماسٍ على

    أطرافها الياقوت والمرجانُ

    As though they were diamond pens, with

    Ruby and coral at their tips.
