ويا حبذا أزهارها عند ما بدت

من البطل المشهور في عظم فعله

من البطل المشهور في عظم فعله

And oh, how lovely its flowers when they appeared

And how beautiful are its flowers when they appeared

From the hero renowned for the greatness of his deeds.

منوعة الألوان ما بين أبيض

منوعة الألوان ما بين أبيض

يلوح كأيام تسامت بعدله

يلوح كأيام تسامت بعدله

Varied in color, ranging from white

Diverse in colors between white

That gleams like days exalted by his justice.

Appearing like the days exalted by his justice

وللَه ما أبهى سناها فإنه

وللَه ما أبهى سناها فإنه

يلألىء نوراً مثل اشراق فضله

يلألىء نوراً مثل اشراق فضله

And by God, how splendid their radiance, for it

By Allah, how splendid is their brightness, for it

Sparkles with light like the radiance of his virtue.

Gleams light like the radiance of his virtue

وتزهو بألوان عجيب وقوعها

وتزهو بألوان عجيب وقوعها

ويزهو نداها من ندى فيض نيله

ويزهو نداها من ندى فيض نيله

And they glow with colors wondrous in their appearance,

And they bloom in wondrous falling of their colors

And their dew gleams from the bounty of his overflowing gifts.

And its dew glows from the dew of the outpouring of his Nile

In fragrance they mirrored his qualities, and in some of their features

Some of its description told of his knowledge and in some of its description

They mirrored the enemies’ condition on the day of his charge.

It told of the state of the enemies on the day of his onslaught

فصفر وجوه ثم زرق كخطبهم

وتبسم ثغرا مثل سار بظله

وتبسم ثغرا مثل سار بظله

Thus yellow faces, then blue like their plight,

So their faces turned yellow, then blue like their worries

And they smile with mouths like one rejoicing in his shade.

And a mouth smiled like the one who walked in its shade

ودود كورّاد تبثّ ثناء

ودود كورّاد تبثّ ثناء

وحمر كدم فاض من حد نصله

وحمر كدم فاض من حد نصله

Affectionate, like visitors spreading praise,

Affectionate like everlasting spreading praise

And red like blood that flowed from the edge of his blade.

And red like the blood spilled from the edge of his sword
