جرىflowed الصفاءُal-Safa (purity) فأروىand so quenched thirst
جرى الصفاءُ فأروى
ظماthirst الأنامhumankind بوردهwith its water
ظما الأنام بورده
Al-Safa flowed and quenched
The serenity flowed and quenched
humankind’s thirst with its water.
The thirst of the people with its roses
أهدىhe bestowed الصفاءَal-Safa (purity) وأغنىand enriched
أهدى الصفاءَ وأغنى
أخاone afflicted with افتقارpoverty بوردهwith its water
أخا افتقار بورده
He bestowed al-Safa and enriched
Serenity offered and enriched
one in poverty with its water.
A brother in need with its roses
كسىhe clothed الصفاءal-Safa (purity) خصاباًfertile abundance
كسى الصفاء خصاباً
يزهوit flourishes افتخاراًproudly بوردهin its roses
يزهو افتخاراً بورده
He clothed al-Safa in fertile abundance;
Serenity adorned the meadow
it flourishes, proud of its roses.
That prides itself on its roses
أجراهhe made it flow نعمexcellent is بشيرٌBashir
أجراه نعم بشيرٌ
أحيىhe revived القفارthe wastelands برفدهwith his bounty
أحيى القفار برفده
Bashir made it flow—how excellent he is!
It was sent as good tidings by a harbinger
He revived the wastelands with his bounty.
Who revived the barren land with its outpour
جزاهmay He reward him ذوthe possessor of الطولbounty خيراًwith good
جزاه ذو الطول خيراً
وزادand increase أشراقthe radiance of سعدهhis good fortune
وزاد أشراق سعده
May the Lord of bounty reward him with good
May the Most Generous reward it with goodness
and increase the radiance of his good fortune.
And increase the brightness of its happiness
