يا من يغاث به وينعم بالنجا

يا من يغاث به وينعم بالنجا

يا من إذا ما اشتد خطب فرّجا

يا من إذا ما اشتد خطب فرّجا

O you through whom one is aided and blessed with deliverance,

O you who brings relief and bestows blessings

O you who bring relief whenever calamity grows severe,

O you who, when tribulations intensify, brings deliverance

يا من بعظم جلاله شهد الورى

يا من بعظم جلاله شهد الورى

يا من له التسبيح في غسق الدجا

يا من له التسبيح في غسق الدجا

O you to whose great majesty humankind bears witness,

O you whose great majesty the world has witnessed

O you to whom praise belongs in the gloom of night,

O you who is praised at the falling of dusk and dawn

يا من له قلبي تعلق بالدعا

يا من له قلبي تعلق بالدعا

غثنى بلطفك يا عظيم المرتجى

غثنى بلطفك يا عظيم المرتجى

O you to whom my heart clings in supplication,

O you to whom my heart clings in supplication

Aid me with your kindness, O great one in whom hope is placed.

Relieve me with your kindness, O greatest of hopes

مولاي عبدك عند بابك واقف

مولاي عبدك عند بابك واقف

فاشمل بجودك من إليك قد التجى

فاشمل بجودك من إليك قد التجى

My lord, your servant stands at your door;

My Master, your servant stands at your door

so enfold in your generosity the one who has sought refuge in you.

So include with your generosity one who has come seeking refuge

أني ببابك خاضعٌ متذللٌ

أني ببابك خاضعٌ متذللٌ

وعظيم ذنبي في لظاه تاججا

وعظيم ذنبي في لظاه تاججا

Indeed, I am at your door, submissive and humble,

I stand humbly and submissively at your door

and my grievous sin has blazed in its own fire.

And my great sin blazes fiercely

فامنحيني غفرانا وهبني منّة

فامنحيني غفرانا وهبني منّة

وامنن بعفو من سناك تبلجا

وامنن بعفو من سناك تبلجا

So grant me forgiveness and bestow a favor upon me,

So grant me forgiveness and bless me with favour

and favor me with a pardon shining forth from your radiance.

And favour me with pardon for my glowing transgressions

أني بشير في عنايتك التي

أني بشير في عنايتك التي

انجو بها عند الشدائد والشجا

انجو بها عند الشدائد والشجا

Indeed, O Bashir, I am in your care,

I am hopeful in your care which

through which I am saved amid hardships and sorrow.

Saves me in times of distress and hardship

وشهاب نور ضياك غاية مقصدي

وشهاب نور ضياك غاية مقصدي

حاشا أضام وأنت لي نعم الرجال

حاشا أضام وأنت لي نعم الرجال

And, Shihab, the light of your radiance is my ultimate aim;

The light of your brilliance is the goal I seek

far be it that I should be wronged, when you are to me the best of men.

Never would I err when you are my excellent protector
