وقدand indeed تخوفتI have feared فيin الحالينboth states منof تلفيmy destruction
وقد تخوفت في الحالين من تلفي
In the eye is water, and in the heart a raging blaze.
In the eye there is water, and in the heart raging flames
And indeed, in both states I have feared my own destruction.
And I fear in both states my demise
كالعودlike a piece of wood يقطرit drips والنيرانand the flames تحرقهburn it
كالعود يقطر والنيران تحرقه
كالماءlike water فيat طرفan end والنارand fire فيat طرفan end
كالماء في طرف والنار في طرف
Like a piece of wood that drips while the flames burn it,
Like a stick dripping water while fire burns it
Like water at one end, and fire at the other.
Like water in one end, and fire in the other
