فمنهن أن لا يعرض الدهر ذكركم

فمنهن أن لا يعرض الدهر ذكركم

على الروح إلا كادت الروح تتلف

One is that time never brings the memory of you

before the soul without the soul nearly perishing.

ومنهن حب للفؤاد يخصه

ومنهن حب للفؤاد يخصه

فلا أمتري فيه ولا أتكلف

فلا أمتري فيه ولا أتكلف

And among them is a love belonging to the heart alone,

so I neither doubt it nor force it.

وحب بدا للجسم واللون ظاهرا

وحب بدا للجسم واللون ظاهرا

وحب لدى نفسي من الروح ألطف

وحب لدى نفسي من الروح ألطف

And a love that became outwardly visible in body and complexion,

and a love within myself, subtler than the soul.
