  1. تراه أولاً في الأكل سبقاً

    وعند السير يأتي في الأخير

    You see him first at eating, taking the lead;

    And when walking, he comes in last.

  2. وكم وضعوا سكرجة بقية

    فما منعته عن صحن الشعير

    And how often they set out a small bowl of leftovers,

    Yet it did not keep him from a dish of barley.
