وأغيد يسقي الطلا
بديعwondrous حسنbeauty قدindeed بهرdazzled
بديع حسن قد بهر
And a graceful youth serves wine,
He waters the dew at dawn,
Wondrous in beauty, he has dazzled.
Beautiful, of stunning charm,
فيin كفهhis palm شمسa sun فماso no
في كفه شمس فما
لهfor him لرائيهto his beholder قمرa moon
له لرائيه قمر
In his palm is a sun; thus
In his palm a sun, not
No moon can rival him in his beholder’s eyes.
For him to see, a moon.
