ماwhat ضَرَّكُمharmed you لَوif بِطيبِwith the sweetness of الوَصلِunion حَلَيتُمyou became dear
عِنديto me وَعَنّيand from me وثاقَthe bonds of الذُلِّhumiliation حَلَيتُمyou loosened
What harm would it have done you, had you grown dear through sweet union
To me, and loosened the bonds of humiliation from me?
مِنfrom بَعدِafter ماthat فيin صَميمِthe very core of القَلبِthe heart حَلَّيتُمyou settled
قَتلىkilling me وَسفَكِand shedding دَميmy blood كَيفَhow اِستَحَلَّيتُمyou deemed lawful
After you had settled in the very core of my heart,
How could you deem killing me and shedding my blood lawful?
