وَقَفناwe stood لِلوِداعِfor farewell وَقَدand already أُثيرَتwere roused
وَقَفنا لِلوِداعِ وَقَد أُثيرَت
مَطِيُّهُمُtheir mounts وَجَدَّand grew urgent الإرتِحالُdeparture
مَطِيُّهُمُ وَجَدَّ الإرتِحالُ
We stood to bid farewell, and already roused were
We stood to bid farewell, their riding beasts were saddled,
their mounts, and departure grew urgent.
And setting forth was stirred,
نَبُثُّwe pour out سَرائِراًsecrets فيناwithin us وَكادَتand almost
نَبُثُّ سَرائِراً فينا وَكادَت
تَنوحُwail لِرِقَّةِat the tenderness of الشَكوىthe lament الجَمالُthe camels
تَنوحُ لِرِقَّةِ الشَكوى الجَمالُ
We poured out the secrets within us, and they nearly
Secrets in us they sowed, and beauty's soft complaining
wailed at the tenderness of the lament—the camels.
Seemed ready to break into tears.
