May rain water you, O Monastery of Yaqut, as a dwelling;
O monastery, abode of rubies, you were watered with life
And may the draught of your water ever remain sweet and smooth.
And your roses' nectar still flows fresh and chained

تُفَتِّقُها أَيدي التَنَفُّسِ مَندِلا
And may a fragrant breeze trail its skirts across your abode,
The fringes of perfume trailed over your meads
Which the hands of breathing unfold, fragrant as aloeswood.
Parted by the hands of breathing, like a scarf

The time of youth within you—its delights have passed away;
The days of youth within you passed with their sweets
And how blissful a time it was, and how beautiful!
No time was more blissful and beautiful
ذَكَرتُكَI remembered you فَاِنهَلَّتso poured down دُموعيmy tears تَأَسُّفاًin sorrow

وَحُقَّ للدَمعي أَن يَجودَ وَيَهمِلا
I remembered you, and my tears poured down in sorrow;
I remembered you and my tears poured in sorrow
And rightly should my tears pour freely and flow.
It is right for my tears to flow and neglect all else
