A gazelle from the family of Shayban has deprived
my eyes of sweet sleep at night,
Babylonian with burning glances and cheeks like fire,
yet her heat burned in my heart.
I said, when her bending side sways
like a willow branch tossing in the wind,
"You have stolen sleep from me." He answered,
“This is nothing new for the Kurds."
