أيذهبُ يوم لم أكفر ذنوبه

أيذهبُ يوم لم أكفر ذنوبه

بذكر شفيع في الذنوب مشفع

بذكر شفيع في الذنوب مشفع

Shall a day pass without my atoning for its sins

Shall the day pass when I have not atoned for its sins

by remembering an intercessor whose intercession for sins is accepted,

By remembering the intercessor of sins as intercessor

ولم أقضِ في حق الصلاة فريضة

ولم أقضِ في حق الصلاة فريضة

على ذي مقام في الحساب مرفَّع

على ذي مقام في الحساب مرفَّع

and without my fulfilling the duty of sending blessings

And I have not performed the duty of prayer as obligatory

upon one whose station at the Reckoning is exalted?

Upon the one of elevated station at judgment

أرجِّي لديه النفع في صدق حبِّه

أرجِّي لديه النفع في صدق حبِّه

ومن يرتج المختار لا شك ينفع

ومن يرتج المختار لا شك ينفع

I hope for benefit from him through sincere love for him;

I hope for benefit with him in the sincerity of his love

and whoever hopes in the Chosen One will surely benefit.

And whoever hopes in the Chosen One, no doubt benefits

وأهدى إلى مثواه مني تحية

وأهدى إلى مثواه مني تحية

إذا قصدتْ باب الرضى لم تدفع

إذا قصدتْ باب الرضى لم تدفع

And I send a greeting from me to his resting place;

And I send to his resting place a greeting from me

when it seeks the gate of favor, it is not turned away.

When it seeks the door of contentment it will not be rejected
