Sol 6.1

  1. ابدأ مقالك بالثّناء على النبي

    جلّت محامدُه عن الأحصاءِ

    Begin your speech with praise of the Prophet;

    his praiseworthy qualities are beyond counting.

  2. واشكرْه كي تزدادَ من نعمائه

    فالشكر فيه زيادةُ النعماء

    And thank him, that you may gain more of his favors,

    for in gratitude lies an increase of blessings.

  3. وادع الإله تضرعاً وتخوفاً

    وأسأله بالحسنى من الأسماء

    And call upon God in humble supplication and fear,

    and ask Him by the most beautiful of names.

  4. واستوهب الغفران منه فإنه

    يعفو ويغفر زلة الخطَّاء

    And beg forgiveness from Him, for He

    pardons and forgives the habitual sinner’s lapse.

  5. واجعلْ وسيلتك التي ترجو بها

    منه التجاوزَ صاحب الإسراء

    And take as your intercessor, through whom you hope

    for His pardon, the one who made the Night Journey—

  6. خير الأنام وخير مبعوثٍ أتى

    بالنور يصدع غيهبَ الظلماء

    the best of creation and the best messenger who came

    with light, cleaving the blackness of the dark night;

  7. ختَّام ديوان الرسالة والهدى

    فتاح باب شفاعة الشفعاءِ

    sealer of the register of messengership and guidance,

    opener of the gate of the intercessors’ intercession.

  8. ويشاهد الأشهادُ عزَّ مقامه

    وسموه في رتبة العلياء

    And the witnesses behold the glory of his station

    and his exalted standing in the highest rank.

  9. فجميعهم يرجو النبي وإنما

    يرجى العظيمُ لأعظم الأشياء

    For all of them look in hope to the Prophet, and only

    the great are looked to for the greatest things.

  10. صلى عليه الله ما أسماه في

    شرفٍ وما أولاه بالأسماء

    May God bless him—how exalted he is in

    honor, and how worthy he is of these names!
