1. صلوا على خير البريةِ خيما

    وأجلّ من حاز الفخارَ صميما

    Send blessings upon the best of creation in character,

    and the noblest to attain unalloyed glory.

  2. صلوا على من شرِّفت بوجوده

    أرجاء مكة زمزماً وحطيما

    Send blessings upon him whose presence ennobled

    the precincts of Mecca—Zamzam and Hatim.

  3. صلوا على أعلى قريشٍ منزلا

    بذراه خيّمت العلا تخييما

    Send blessings upon the highest of Quraysh in rank,

    upon whose heights eminence firmly pitched its tent.

  4. صلوا على نورٍ تجلى صبحه

    فجلا ظلاماً للضلال بهيما

    Send blessings upon a light whose dawn shone forth,

    and dispelled the pitch-black darkness of error.

  5. صلوا على هادٍ أرانا هديه

    نهجاً من الدين الحنيف قويما

    Send blessings upon a guide whose guidance showed us

    a straight path of the upright faith.

  6. صلوا على هذا النبي فإنه

    من لم يزل بالمؤمنين رحيما

    Send blessings upon this Prophet, for he is

    one who has ever been merciful to the believers.

  7. صلوا على الزاكي الكريم محمدٍ

    ما مثله في المرسلينَ كريما

    Send blessings upon the pure, noble Muhammad,

    whose nobility has no equal among the messengers.

  8. ذاك الذي حاز المكارمَ فأغتدت

    قد نظِّمت في سلكه تنظيما

    He is the one who gathered noble virtues, so they were

    strung upon his thread in orderly array.

  9. من كان أشجعَ من أسامة في الوغى

    ولدى الندىِّ يحكي الحيا تجسيماً

    He who was braver than a lion in battle,

    and in the assembly embodied the life-giving rain.

  10. طلق المحيا ذو حياء زانه

    وسط الندىِّ وزاده تعظيما

    Cheerful of countenance, possessing modesty that adorned him

    amid the assembly and increased his dignity.

  11. حكمت له بالفضل كل حكيمةٍ

    في الوحي جاء بها الكتاب حكيماً

    Every wise verse proclaimed his preeminence,

    which the wise Book brought in revelation.

  12. وبدتْ شواهد صدقه قد قسّمت

    بَدرَ الدجى لقسيمهِ تقسيما

    And proofs of his truthfulness appeared, having split

    the full moon of night for its peer in beauty.

  13. والشمسُ قد وقفت له لما رأت

    وجهاً وسيماً للنبيّ وسيما

    And the sun stood still for him when it saw

    the Prophet's handsome face and distinguishing mark.

  14. كم آيةٍ نطقتْ تصدّق أحمدا

    حتى الجمادُ أجابه تكليما

    How many a sign spoke, affirming Ahmad's truth!

    Even lifeless things answered him in speech.

  15. والجذع حنّ حنين صبٍ مغرم

    أضحى للوعات الفراق غريماً

    And the trunk yearned with an enamored lover's longing,

    becoming a captive to the burning pangs of separation.

  16. جلت مناقب خاتم الرسل الذي

    بالنور خُتّم والهدى تختيما

    Glorious are the virtues of the Seal of the Messengers, who

    was firmly sealed with light and guidance.

  17. وسمت به فوق السماء مراتبٌ

    بمنام صدق عزفيهُ مقيما

    And ranks rose with him above heaven,

    in a true dream, where he dwelt exalted.

  18. فله لواءُ الحمد غير مدافع

    وله الشفاعةُ إذ يكون كليما

    So his is the banner of praise, uncontested,

    and his is intercession when he converses with God.

  19. نرجوه في يوم الحساب وإنّما

    نرجو لموقفه العظيمِ عظيما

    We hope in him on the Day of Reckoning, and only

    a mighty one do we seek for its mighty gathering.

  20. ما إن لنا إلا وسيلةُ حبه

    وتحيةٌ تذكو شذاً وشميما

    We have no means of approach save love for him

    and a salutation that grows rich in fragrance and perfume.

  21. ولخير ما أهدى امرؤٌ لنبيه

    أرجُ الصلاة مع السلام جسيما

    And surely the best a person offers his Prophet

    is the fragrance of blessings, with peace in abundance.

  22. يا أيها الراجونَ منه شفاعةً

    صلوا عليه وسلموا تسليما

    O you who hope for intercession from him,

    send blessings upon him and salute him with peace.
