يزكو شَذا مسك الختام ويعبقُ

Conclude with mention of Muhammad, for remembrance of him

Conclude with the mention of Muhammad, for his mention

Grows sweet with the musk-scent of the close and spreads its fragrance.

Purifies like the scent of musk sealing wax, and makes fragrant

وانظم قلائد مدحه فنظامُها

وانظم قلائد مدحه فنظامُها

در على جيد المحامد ينسقُ

در على جيد المحامد ينسقُ

And string the necklaces of his praise, for their strands

And string together necklaces praising him, for their composition

Are pearls arrayed upon the neck of virtues.

Is pearls upon the neck of praises, well-arranged

وأرقمْ صحائفك الحسانَ بوصفه

وأرقمْ صحائفك الحسانَ بوصفه

فبه تروق الناظرين وتؤنقُ

فبه تروق الناظرين وتؤنقُ

And inscribe your beautiful pages with his description;

And inscribe your parchment sheets with his attributes

For through it they please beholders and delight them.

For through him do gazers become elegant and graceful

وأعلم بأن كتاب مادح أحمدٍ

وأعلم بأن كتاب مادح أحمدٍ

نور بآفاق الهداية يشرق

نور بآفاق الهداية يشرق

And know that the book of one who praises Ahmad

And know that the book praising Ahmed

Is a light shining across the horizons of guidance.

Is light with horizons of guidance shining

واستوهب الرحمن صادق حبِّه

واستوهب الرحمن صادق حبِّه

فبحبه فاز الهداةُ السّبق

فبحبه فاز الهداةُ السّبق

And ask the All-Merciful to grant you sincere love for him;

And beg the Merciful for His sincere love

For through love of him the foremost guides have triumphed.

For through His love did the guided ones win the race

وابعث إليه تحيةً يسري بها

وابعث إليه تحيةً يسري بها

ركب ينضّ بشوقها أو يعنق

ركب ينضّ بشوقها أو يعنق

And send him a greeting, carried through the night

And send him a greeting, with which

By a caravan that hastens with its longing or strides swiftly.

A riding company moves out of yearning, or embraces

وصل الصلاةَ عليه فهي وسيلةٌ

وصل الصلاةَ عليه فهي وسيلةٌ

بصلاتها دوح السعادة يورق

بصلاتها دوح السعادة يورق

And keep invoking blessings upon him, for this is a means:

And join in prayer upon him, for it is a means

Through its gifts, the spreading trees of happiness put forth leaves.

By which the foliage of happiness, through his prayer, grows green
