وَتَقولُ وَالعَبَرَاتُ سَائِلَةٌ

وَتَقولُ وَالعَبَرَاتُ سَائِلَةٌ

إذ لَيسَ غيرُ اللهِ يَسمَعُنَا

إذ لَيسَ غيرُ اللهِ يَسمَعُنَا

And she says, while tears are flowing,

You say as tears inquire,

when none but God hears us:

for none but God can hear our plight,

أمَّا الرَّحِيلُ فَدُونَ بَعدِ غَدٍ

أمَّا الرَّحِيلُ فَدُونَ بَعدِ غَدٍ

فَمَتَى تَقُولُ الدّارُ تَجمَعُنَا

فَمَتَى تَقُولُ الدّارُ تَجمَعُنَا

“As for departure, it is before the day after tomorrow;

"Depart tomorrow if you will,

so when, tell me, will the house bring us together?”

but say, when will our home unite?"
