A moon has risen, and the air is his sky.
The moon peeked out, and the air was its sky,
His splendor has filled eyes and souls.
It filled sights and souls with its splendor.

His passage and resting place quake before him.
Its motion and stillness made it shy,
And what lies before and behind him is too narrow to contain him.
And its front and back were too narrow for it.

Its beauty almost snatched thoughts away,
And his radiance all but snatches eyes away.
And its radiance almost seized eyes.

And when the crescents are reproached for waning,
When the crescent was reproached for its deficiency,
His fullness and growth delight and increase.
It was pleased and its perfection and growth increased.

His movements and stillness yearn for him.
Its motions and stillness long for
Its smoothness due to its lord who

Let Valencia glory in her lord, whose
Protected borders, his defense and his singing surrounded them,
Defense and prowess have guarded the frontiers.
His leadership healed the wounds from the bites of enemies.

The frontier is charmed and cured of the foes' affliction
A country prides itself for including it, for it
By his coming, then his protective presence and his call.
Dispels the darkness of its night with its illumination.

A land that holds him glories in him, for
Thus its traits become evident in its regions,
His radiance dispels the deep darkness of its night.
And its blessings overflow in its corners.

So his qualities become clear throughout its regions,
And an aided one extends the fences of victory in it,
And his blessings overflow throughout its reaches.
Its views make walls unnecessary for it.

And one granted aid extends victory's rampart there;
A volunteer who gives the good his chastity,
His counsels spare it the need of its walls.
It is as if they are his partners in his money.

A generous giver, he grants the choicest gifts to his petitioners,
Oh son of the two Imams to whom
As though they were his partners in his wealth.
Pride of ancestry, loyalty and allegiance were attributed.

You raised the standards of guidance against those
Glory's lineage and allegiance are ascribed,
Who harbor enmity until your purpose and moderation became clear.

His justice encompassed the land, and his wealth watered
Delivered to him what his caliphs had guarded.
Both the rich and poor with his gifts.

The alliances of victory’s support are his allies,
For their rich and poor was his radiance.
And the protectors of his territory, they are his trustees.

The guarantors of truth's victory are its allies,
The sons of Ishmael, his promise to them remains
And defenders of its realm, and they are its trustees.
True, honest and loyal.

The sons of Ishmael: among them its covenant
From Qais ‘Ailan, and do you know what
Endures, and true are its promise and its fulfillment.
Qais is? It is the maker of the religion of guidance and its improver.

Of Qays Aylan—and what can tell you what
They raised him as a cub, so they are his fathers,
Qays is: the light of the faith of guidance, and its glory.
And they looked after him as a youth, so they are his sons.
رَبّوهthey reared it منتشئاًgrowing up فَهُمso they آباؤُهُits fathers

They reared it as it grew, so they are its fathers,
Supporting him until the day of judgement is their duty,
And tended it in maturity, so they are its sons.
And the banners and flags are theirs.
وَعَلَيهِمُand upon them حَتَّىuntil القِيَامَةِResurrection نصرُهُits defense

And upon them, until Resurrection, rests its defense,
They are those who fight his enemies
And with them are its banners and its standard.
Until his power humiliates their enemies.
وَهُمand they الَّذينَthose who يُقَاتِلُونَfight عُداتَهُits foes

And they are the ones who fight its foes,
They restored his soul after
Until its enemies bow before its might.
Grief over life had left its blemish.

And they restored its spirit after
So the religion is bound upon him as its crown,
Its last spark of life had hovered on life's brink.
And its gown is draped over him.
فَالدّينُso the faith مَعصوبٌbound عَلَيهِupon it تَاجُهُits crown

So faith has its crown bound upon it
And the pillars of monotheism are high of structure,
In honor, and its mantle hangs down upon it.
And polytheism has collapsed and its building has fallen.
وَدَعَائِمُand the pillars التَّوحِيدِGod's oneness سَامِيَةُlofty البِناin structure

And the pillars of God's oneness are lofty in structure,
You seek the self of the enemy, his land or you defeat him,
While polytheism's edifice has plunged and collapsed.
Not the enemy’s blessings and his shelter.
نَفسَthe person العَدُوِّthe enemy وَأرضَهُand his land أَوor هَزمَهُhis defeat

The enemy himself and his land, or his defeat,
So if he obeys you then you are his bliss,
You seek—not the enemy's livestock and sheep.
And if he refuses then refusal is his torment.
فَإِذَاso if أطَاعَكُمُhe obeys you فَأنتُمthen you سَعدُهُhis good fortune

If he obeys you, then you are his good fortune;
The noble one has his remedy with you
And if he refuses, refusal is his misery.
No matter how much his sickness persists in misguidance.

And you have his cure in the Mashrafi sword,
The amount of his nonsense and foolishness mislead him,
However persistently his disease continues in error.
And his illusion extends his confusion.

The multitude of his great and small deludes him,
Never! That cannot bend your determination,
And his rabble sustains him in his error.
For a flood is easier than its foam.

For the torrent's scum is the least of its concerns.

He gave him a long respite out of your patience
He chooses and wills for your triumph?
So he may return with his arrogance relaxed.

Your respite let out for him the tether of hopes,
So his obstinacy threw him into an abyss,
So that its slackening might bring him back from his folly.
And his delusions dropped him from a cliff.

And his passions hurled him down from a lofty height.
Its morning and evening keeping an eye on him.

We surely scared away harm and averted it
A spy upon him—his morning and his evening.

Its words and call are the praise of your glory.

Its arrival and visit are good news.

He gifted the poem in verses and wished that
Whose praise and commendation of you never cease.
Its lines were his love instead.
