إذَاwhen كنتI am فِيin نجدNajd وطيبand the sweetness of نسيمهاits breeze
إذَا كنت فِي نجد وطيب نسيمها
تذكرتI remember أهليmy family باللوىat al-Liwa فمحيجرand then Muhayjir
تذكرت أهلي باللوى فمحيجر
When I am in Najd, amid the sweetness of its breeze,
When I'm in Najd, enjoying its gentle breeze
I remember my family at al-Liwa and Muhayjir.
I remember my family in anguish, so restrain your tears
وإنand if كنتI am فيهمamong them ذبتI melt شوقاًwith longing ولوعةand anguish
وإن كنت فيهم ذبت شوقاً ولوعة
إِلَىfor ساكنيthe dwellers of نجدٍNajd وعيلand is exhausted تصبّريmy effort to remain patient
إِلَى ساكني نجدٍ وعيل تصبّري
And if I am among them, I melt with longing and anguish
And if I'm with them, longing and grief consume me
For the dwellers of Najd, and my patience gives out.
For Najd's dwellers, so be patient my dear
وَقَدْand indeed طالhas grown long مَاwhat lies بَيْنَbetween الفرقينthe two groups قصتيmy tale
وَقَدْ طال مَا بَيْنَ الفرقين قصتي
فمنso who ليfor me بنجدwith Najd بَيْنَamong أهليmy family ومعشريand my people
فمن لي بنجد بَيْنَ أهلي ومعشري
My tale between the two groups has indeed grown long;
The separation has been long between us two
So who can grant me Najd among my family and my people?
Who will bring me to Najd, my people and comrades?
