ما اسمُ فتىً حرُوفُهُ

ما اسمُ فتىً حرُوفُهُ

تصحيفُها إنْ غُيّرَتْ

تصحيفُها إنْ غُيّرَتْ

What is the name of a youth whose letters,

What is the name of a man whose letters

if their dots are altered

Jumbled up remain the same

في الخَطّ عن ترتيبها

في الخَطّ عن ترتيبها

مُقْلَتُهُ إن نَظَرَتْ

مُقْلَتُهُ إن نَظَرَتْ

in writing from their arrangement,

In script should their order change

spell his eye when it gazes?

And reversed too stays his name

أدعُو لهُ من قَلْبِهِ

أدعُو لهُ من قَلْبِهِ

بعَوْدَةٍ مِنْهُ سَرَتْ

بعَوْدَةٍ مِنْهُ سَرَتْ

I pray for him, from his heart,

My heart prays he'll turn around

for a return that has flowed from him.

And be at peace from inner pains
