حيَّalive with الأشواقِlongings ميّتَdead to السَّلْوَانِconsolation
حيَّ الأشواقِ ميّتَ السَّلْوَانِ
I have become—my state revealing my plight—
I have become expressive of my inner feelings
Alive with longing, dead to consolation.
Alive with passion, dead to playfulness
ياO منyou who نسخannulled الوَعْدَthe promise بهجرٍthrough abandonment ونأىand went far away
يا من نسخ الوَعْدَ بهجرٍ ونأى
فَرِّحgladden أمليmy hope بوعدwith a promise زورٍfalsehood ثانِsecond
فَرِّح أملي بوعد زورٍ ثانِ
O you who annulled the promise through abandonment and went far away,
O you who reneged on your promise with estrangement and distance
Gladden my hope with a second false promise.
Make my hopes joyful again with another false promise
