And a black steed of the stock of al-Wajih and Lahiq,
And the most handsome of the eminent family members followed him
Night is his color, and morning his white stockings.
The night colored his complexion and the morning made him shy

فلولاand were it not for التهابthe burning of الخَصرthe flank ظَلwould have kept يسيلُflowing
The water of beauty pooled upon his hide;
The water of beauty was confused above his skin
But for his flank's burning heat, it would have kept flowing.
So if it weren’t for his waist being lit up, it would have kept flowing

The crescent of Eid al-Fitr had appeared upon his face;
The crescent moon of Eid appeared on his face
So our eyes turn toward him in longing.
Our eyes incline towards him out of longing

As though the tempestuous winds were bearing him aloft,
It was as if the stormy winds were carrying him
When his girth-region and neck grow wet.
When his belt and wraparound garment got wet from it

When the fortunate victor mounts his back,
When the glorious victorious one rose up on his steed
Pride appears, coursing through his two flanks.
Pride in his shoulders started wandering
فمنso whoever رامseeks تشبيهاًa comparison لهfor him قالsays موجزاًbriefly
وإنand although كانis وصفthe description of الحسنbeauty منهin him يطولtakes long
So whoever seeks a comparison for him says in brief,
So whoever wanted to compare him, said concisely
Though describing his beauty takes long:
Even though describing his beauty takes long

He is the wheeling firmament; upon the heights of his back
He is the revolving sphere in its orbits
The full moon of dark nights has its rising and setting.
For the full moon rising and setting
Sol 6.1
