رأتنيshe saw me صريعَlaid low by الخمرِwine يوماًone day فَسُؤتُهَاso I distressed her
رأتني صريعَ الخمرِ يوماً فَسُؤتُهَا
وللشَّاربيهاand for those who drink it المدمنيهاthose addicted to it مصارعُdownfalls
وللشَّاربيها المدمنيها مصارعُ
One day she saw me laid low by wine, and I distressed her.
She saw me once drunk and lying down, so she rebuked me,
And those who drink it, addicted to it, have their downfalls.
Yet for those who keep drinking wine till they drop, it will be their downfall.
