1. Do not recount yearning, for the pilgrim’s destination is far
If it appears, then seize pleasures and take advantage

2. And do not let the soul’s regrets roam free
In the concerns of passion, and beware the startle of the hunt

3. And keep the soul from the greed of pride, for it
Desires nothing but all that pertains to robbery

4. And sever its ties from a vengeful loved one
Or a transient affection or an imperfect union
