لَقَدsurely أَسمَعتَyou made yourself heard لَوif نادَيتَyou called حَيّاًsomeone alive
لَقَد أَسمَعتَ لَو نادَيتَ حَيّاً
وَلَكِنand yet لاno حَياةَlife لِمَنfor the one whom تُناديyou call
وَلَكِن لا حَياةَ لِمَن تُنادي
You would surely have made yourself heard had you called to someone alive,
Had you called when alive, you would have been heard,
but there is no life in the one you call.
But there is no life in the one whom you call.
