طَلَبنا يَداً مِثلَ السَماءِ تَجودُ
To you we brought our plea, O Walid, and only
We sought you, O Walid, and indeed
A hand as generous as the sky did we seek.
We sought a hand like the sky in generosity

When it is asked who gives his wealth for praise
If it is said who gives his wealth for praise
And performs good deeds, the answer is: Walid.
And does good, it is said Walid

Walid, son of Abbas, is no scowling man
Walid son of Abbas and not sullen
When a neighbor is in need or someone from afar comes calling.
