قُلsay لِشَهرِto the month of الصِيامِfasting أَنحَلتَyou have made thin جِسميmy body
قُل لِشَهرِ الصِيامِ أَنحَلتَ جِسمي
إِنَّindeed ميقاتَناour appointed time طُلوعُthe rising of الهِلالِthe crescent
إِنَّ ميقاتَنا طُلوعُ الهِلالِ
Say to the month of fasting: You have worn my body thin.
Tell the fasting month my body is drained
Indeed, our appointed time is the rising of the crescent.
For our appointment is the crescent's sight
اِجهَدِexert yourself الآنَnow كُلَّall جَهدِكَyour effort فيناagainst us
اِجهَدِ الآنَ كُلَّ جَهدِكَ فينا
سَتَرىyou will see ماwhat يَكونُhappens فيin شَوّالِShawwal
سَتَرى ما يَكونُ في شَوّالِ
