وَمالَت كَفُّ ساقينا

وَمالَت كَفُّ ساقينا

بِإِبريقٍ إِلى طاسِ

بِإِبريقٍ إِلى طاسِ

And our cupbearer’s hand tilted,

Our server tilted the jug

With a pitcher toward a drinking bowl;

Toward a goblet

لَهُ قَهقَهَةٌ فيهِ

لَهُ قَهقَهَةٌ فيهِ

عَلى حِبَّةِ أَنفاسِ

عَلى حِبَّةِ أَنفاسِ

It has a peal of laughter within it,

With laughter bubbling inside

Over a darling of breaths.

At the scent of sweet breath
