وَقَضَيتُand I fulfilled مِنfrom وَرَقِfoliage الشَبابِyouth حَجاًa desire
وَقَضَيتُ مِن وَرَقِ الشَبابِ حَجاً
مِنfrom كُلِّevery أَحوَزَa nimble, vigorous one راجِعٍcurving back قَصَبُهhis limb-bones
مِن كُلِّ أَحوَزَ راجِعٍ قَصَبُه
And I fulfilled a desire amid youth’s foliage,
I spent my youth like a pilgrim
From every nimble one whose limbs curved back.
