تَأبىrefuse خَلائِقُcharacter traits خالِدٍof Khalid وَفَعالُهُand his deeds
تَأبى خَلائِقُ خالِدٍ وَفَعالُهُ
إِلّاexcept تَجَنُّبَavoiding كُلِّevery أَمرٍact عائِبِshameful
إِلّا تَجَنُّبَ كُلِّ أَمرٍ عائِبِ
Khalid’s character and conduct will brook
Khalid’s character and deeds insist
Nothing but shunning every shameful deed.
on shunning every shameful act.
فَإِذاso when أَتَيتَyou come البابَthe door وَقتَat the time of غَدائِهِhis morning meal
فَإِذا أَتَيتَ البابَ وَقتَ غَدائِهِ
أَذِنَgrants permission الغَداءُthe morning meal بِرَغمِdespite أَنفِthe nose of الحاجِبِthe doorkeeper
أَذِنَ الغَداءُ بِرَغمِ أَنفِ الحاجِبِ
So if you come to his door at the hour of his meal,
So when you come to the door at his morning meal,
The meal itself admits you, despite the doorkeeper.
the meal grants you entry, in defiance of the doorkeeper.
