My lord, take me to a she-ass

    At al-Asbahani’s door.

She enthralled me with her fingertips

And with coyness that has pained me.

She enthralled me the day we set out

    With her beautiful front teeth,

And with coquetry and coy charm

That wasted my body and wore me down.

And she has a smooth cheek,

    Like the cheek of al-Shayfarani.

So I died of this; and had I lived,

My humiliation would then have lasted long.
