لي حِيلَةٌ في مَن يَنُم
مُcompletes 'gossips' وَلَيسَbut there is no فيagainst الكذّابِthe liar حيلَهa stratagem
مُ وَلَيسَ في الكذّابِ حيلَه
I have a stratagem against one who spreads
I have a trick for one who sleeps
gossip, but no stratagem against a liar.
But no trick for a liar
مَنwhoever كانَwas يَحلُفُswears ماwhat يَقوsays (continued)
مَن كانَ يَحلُفُ ما يَقو
لُcompletes 'says' فَحيلَتيthen my stratagem فيهِagainst him قَليلَهlimited
لُ فَحيلَتي فيهِ قَليلَه
Whoever swears to what he
Whoever swears to what they don't say
says—my stratagem against him is limited.
