لَوif نُكِحَwere fucked اللَيثُthe lion فيin اِستِهِhis anus خَضَعاhe would submit
لَو نُكِحَ اللَيثُ في اِستِهِ خَضَعا
وَماتَand he would die جوعاًof hunger وَلَمand would not يَنَلattain طَمَعاwhat he craved
وَماتَ جوعاً وَلَم يَنَل طَمَعا
If the lion were fucked in his arse, he would submit,
If the lion in its lair is tamed,
and die of hunger without gaining what he craved.
And dies of hunger, its hopes unclaimed,
كَذَلِكَlikewise السَيفُthe sword عِندَat the time of هِزَّتِهِits brandishing
كَذَلِكَ السَيفُ عِندَ هِزَّتِهِ
لَوif بَصَقَspat الناسُthe people فيهِon it ماnot قَطَعاit would cut
لَو بَصَقَ الناسُ فيهِ ما قَطَعا
Likewise the sword, when it is brandished:
Like the sword in its sheath, with none to wield,
if people spat on it, it would not cut.
Though spat on by all, it would never yield.
